To Drop or Not To Drop
I've been thinking lately about dropping my Mineral Grey beauty - if I do, I don't want an extreme drop, just 1 to 1-1/2". If I recall, that's about what the Eibach springs would give me. I know I'd like the looks of her dropped a little, but I can't think of any other advantages versus a lot of disadvantages (e.g., harsher ride; more risk of front spoiler damage from hitting curbs and parking blocks; possible need for an adjustable panhard bar - just to name a few). Give me some opinions on pros v. cons for dropping her!

I think the Steeda springs are in that range. David (the other david) has steeda springs and maybe can comment.

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
Steeda Drops the ride 1'' all the way around and there is little difference in ride quality.
Eibach Pro Kit lowers 1.4 front and 1.5 in the rear and you do notice a harsher ride. Couples with the D-SPEC adjustable shocks you can soften the ride back to factory specs
Some that have gone the Steeda route complain that they wish they would have dropped her more....some with the Eibach Kit complain they dont like the added harsher ride...its a give and take

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
I also have the eibachs and love them! The ride quality is not bad. Its not a whole lot different than stock. Like Jarrod said, I would like the shocks to soften the ride a bit though.

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
Steeda is the way to go for you Dave if you only want a 1" drop all around. I have the steeda springs and love them. The ride didn't become harsh but more firm when you need it. The ride quality did not suffer. The smaller drop did not move my rear end enough to require an adjustable panard bar I bought mine from Brenspeed I think. Free shipping. Absolutely no complaints here. I think you will enjoy them. I also found that there is less nose dive during braking then I had with the stock setup.

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
I appreciate the input - but now I'm back to leaving her as is and waiting 'til the 2010s (or even 2011s) come out. If I decide on getting a newer model, no sense in putting more money into this one. If I decide to keep this one, however, then I can proceed with lowering springs; new wheels; etc. On the plus side, in two more years she'll still have less than 18,000 miles on her.

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
So far from what I have seen on the new cars I'm not all that impressed. For me I think I am leaning toward keeping mine and just doing a build and Forced induction in the next year or so. I think in the long run it will be a better setup and most likely the same or less money.

Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
ah ya gotta love the look of the 4x4 mustang that the factory gives us. go with the eibach pro kit springs, the d-specs, an adjustable panhard bar, and a firestone lifetime alignment ($150 +/-). you'll be able to adjust the firmness to whatever you want and if you do decide to take it to the track you can soften up the rears so you can get some nice squat. if you take it to the road track you can make it nice and firm for the corners. the one suggestion i would give to everyone when getting an alignment with the 1.5 inch drop is have them align it to the specs of a shelby gt as it comes from the factory with the frpp springs and has about the same drop thus giving you the proper specs needed.
Re: To Drop or Not To Drop
Im with you David....the new mustangs are not impressing me thus far. The powerplant is falling short.
Going to wait until the 2011 comes out with the big boy motor. Until then Im saving for FI
