I'd have to say it was a very well put together build then!

This may have been answered already.. I didnt read.. 85 was a flat eyebrow cut TRW forged without a dish, 86 was a true flat top forged piston (they suck), then 1987 to mid year 92 was a forged eyebrow cut slightly dished piston. Supposedly you can tell by the color of the oil pan if it is forged or hyper on the 92. I think a black pan is hyper and a grey pan is forged or the other way around, I dont remember but it is suppose to be a mid year change on them. The same forged engine was also offered in many of the HO thunderbirds, XR7 cougars and LCS Lincoln Mark VII's. The HO had the throttle body facing the passenger fender and the non HO had it facing the drivers side on most of them. Also the HO clearly says HO on top of the upper intake where the non HO did not.

nice ... a better answer than what i expected.

Well this was left after my timing chain took a dump in my old 302 and smacked my Trick Flow twisted wedge head valves in to one of my piston. wasn't much room to play with when you have an E303 and 1.7 roller rockers. Good bye 302 and hello 331 stroker kit.
