Tokico D-SPEC

Tokico D-SPEC
Will, at CARFX, just installed the Tokico D-SPEC shocks on my stang. The ride quality is awesome! At the beginning I installed the Steeda Sport springs on my car which lowered it a bit. The ride went to crap. It was like driving a brick. The new D-SPECs were a little costly, but worth every penny.

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
hope you didn't pay more than 550 for the shocks/struts themselves. that's a pretty standard price before installation. i do love the d-specs though. i've had them for quite some time now and they are awesome. if you are capable at all of turning a wrench you could have done the install yourself though. first time i did mine it took me about 4 hours to do the shocks, struts, springs, panhard bar, panhard support, and lca's.

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
I have thought about the D-specs as well for the cobra. As it is the cobra doesnt ride that bad, but a little extra couldnt hurt.
Congrats on the upgrade!

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
Yup love the D-Specs.....That mod is on the list. $550 and installed by myself...not a bad deal.
I hope CarFx didnt take you for much more than that. The BMMC is good for a lot of things...including helping with installs for do it yourself mods. The D specs are definitely something we can tackle...and installed for Free....cant beat that.

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
i'm still interested in what carfx charged mick for the d-specs alone. much less how much to install the things.

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
I know when ford had tsb on the strut plates for 05 stangs, it payed me like 1.1 labor to do both sides.

Re: Tokico D-SPEC
CarFx doesnt really go off a labor rate hehe...more like a ripoff meter. They look you up and down....and spit out a taylored cost. The higher the amount...the more they think your a goof that doesnt know how much things cost.

I would not let Will wash my car let alone work on it.
