You can change the handle I believe on the Hurst. Order a new handle and viola. However I think you'd stay with the ball style after trying it. Must have for power shifts. I should know.

The stock shifter blows. I like my Tri-Ax but the Hurst is a good piece too. Get it.

Dude shifting with the stock piece is like throwing a hotdog down a hallway. The aftermarket firms things up alot.

I would have to say that the hurst shifter was second only to the SC in amount of fun and excitement. When I went to purchase mine my only requirement was it look completely stock. I left with a hurst shifter with a bright white ball. I don't know why it just felt good and was tight. My dad had told me when he was growing up that he couldn't afford the Hurst so they would paint a shifter knob white. The more I looked at it the more I thought it was a nice throw back look like the rest of the car.

I was told the Tri Ax would accept the factory knob but in the end it was the feel that sold me.

The Hurst shifter that retains the oem knob is part # 391-0200. I'm not sure if they are still producing it though.

I have the hurst. Love it.

I'm thinking about getting one of those skull head knobs. They're bitching!
