DynoJet vs Dyno Dynamics

I don't know how many of you have done research on this topic... but here is a list of URLs that you guys can look at. Some is hersey, some fact, some fiction... You be the judge!

I like how the Dyno Dynamic's Dyno is known as the "heartbreaker" dyno! Hahaha

David L & Jarrod... I'll put my car on the DynoJet.... I know I'll get more than 406! I'll take my $5 in crisp unmarked bills! lol!

This is stuff I already told you, remember those quotes I posted in the dyno thread! Now this quote may make more since to you since you seen it first hand when Greg changed the roller mass or whatever!

[quote name='Justin00Stang' date='Mar 25 2009, 09 PM' post='667739']
That is the problem with many off brand dynos, many are notorious for reading low, so the operators/shops try to adjust them to read normal, but where do they stop? so keep going and make them read high.
Dynojet's software is locked down so no one can fudge with the HP/TQ calculation by changing roller mass, and the run conditions and correction factors are printed on the dyno sheet so you know exactly what is going on (IE if it was 30* out and barometric pressure was 31inHG then you know why the car made a ton of power).

The $5 was for running a SAFE tune and getting real world numbers. Not pushing the car to the limit of popping on every run. haha

You get on a dynojet and run it....while we are there. and Ill give you your $5

The way we got Dein car up so high was the barometric pressure reading in the weather station can be changed not the dyno software. This is the exact same thing you can do on the different dynos. As for dyno jet it has the fudge built in lol!

Heres the trick to the dyno.....

Pick one tuner and one dyno and make adjustments. If you start going from one to another to another your just gonna end up frustrated angry and out a bunch of money.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again.

Dyno numbers are cool and all......but its like asking someone how much they can bench press...What difference does it make if they can still kick your ass.

That being said I believe too many people get all worked up in the high power number. The purpose of the dyno is to tune the car to make the best power in the safest most effecient way. Changing to different dynos will yield different numbers either higher or lower because no two are exactly alike. Then you take into account weather conditions altitude density, air temperature and so forth and the numbers will be off even more just due to the conditions on any particular day.

I think they key to being successful with your modifications and charting your progress is to pick a dyno that you like and use it exclusively to chart your progress and how the changes in parts have changed the overall performance of your car.

My $ .02
