Just a nagging idea
Ok I have had a thought that will not go away. I transplanted a Z28 350 into my Feiro when I was in the Navy and I keep having this dream about putting either a 302 or 351 in my car. It just keeps bugging me because some less talented folks said it cannot be done. I for one hate being told I cannot do something when it comes to things mechanical (in bed ehh I understand). So honest opinions what do you guys think the feasibility is on doing this maybe over the winter. I could build the engine this fall and have it ready to go putting out around 400-450hp n/a if I could seriously make it work with the computer no carbs. I could use a FAST or MSD and a donor engine computer huh??? Oh and with my hood I have the clearance for taller intakes.

Well I think I am going to go full race car with it down the road GT1 and it would be cheaper to maintain a Windsor motor.

Re: Just a nagging idea
Dude I would go with the either one. A terminator engine or a windsor would be sweet! I hope you are able to fit that motor in there. It would be nice.

Well for a serious build on a windsor based motor you will spend some coin to get the HP you are looking for. It can be done. Im guessing 5-7K might get it done with all the mods to everything. You can buy all the electronics and so forth from LRS. Or you could just go carbed? Would be an interesting combo.

Weight is a killer. As well balanced as the V6 is; the handling will go away with a big fat engine up there.............................
So, go with the 5.0L Cammer (aluminum block)
okay, a little rich eh? At least look at the new Boss line of crate engines.............

For weight distribution I was actually thinking maybe he should think about one of the new Eco-Boost V6 engines. He could still have over 400hp AND keep the balance of the car as is.................????

Re: Just a nagging idea
Hell George for that matter you can forge your current setup and get a turbo kit and be done with it. Im sure you could eek out 400 hp with the right combo.

Re: Just a nagging idea
FWIW, Tom Yeager (original Team Shelby driver in the '60s) was asked "of all the Shelby mustangs in available today, which one would you choose?"
His answer (paraphrased, because my memory is already failing me....): "Without a doubt, the Terlingua! It may not have the horsepower of the SuperSnake, but it is by far the most fun to drive on the track."
The Eco-Boost sequential twin turbo setup though would be much better than the supercharger..........

Re: Just a nagging idea
Well I talked to someone at MRT (April) and she took all my specs and mods. She is going to talk to Scott Hoag about a turbo setup on my current engine. They have done a lot of these like the MKZ, Fusion AWD, and Edge with a turbo they are near 400hp. He will be here during the Shelby show so I will have to buy him dinner and pick his brain.

Re: Just a nagging idea
I think he's the guy that did a twin turbo setup on a couple of mustang convertibles a year or so ago. They were in an article in Mustangs Monthly............?????
That sounds promising
