Why did we drop Archangel as a sponsor?

Post by SVT03Chris on June 10th 2009, 4:06 pm

I was actually there the past two days and was on my way back when Chris (lxhatch302) saw me coming off the highway.

Kurtis and I spoke a little but was kind of confused about the whole thing. If this isn't the right spot for this, someone PM me and tell me if you don't mind (Paul, David, Jarrod) or anyone. If not, it's no big deal just kinda curious honestly.

Thanks!

Never had any work done by him, but I've been in his shop and spoke with him a couple of times. He seems like a real good guy, but he sure did have alot of projects going on.

Kurtis is a great guy and is a great tuner. That is not and has never been in question. The problems are with the lack of customer service. We as a club don't just take money from business' for sponsorship and walk away. We want there to be a relationship between the club and the sponsor. We send business to the sponsors and put our good name as a backer to the sponsors ability to produce results. With Archangel we sent many people that way and had about a 99% feedback of the same thing. They could never make contact by phone or phone calls were never returned. So after taking in all the complaints we felt it was best to remove the association and not ask for sponsorship. This doesn't mean that we have any ill feelings toward Archangel or Kurtis it simply means wwe chose not to use his establishment as a sponsor for the reasons listed above. Many people have gone to Archangel with great results. We wish Kurtis and his business all the best.

+1. He had so many Cobras/Mustangs/Lightnings that I don't think there was room for even 1 more car in there.

In the world of the 03/04 Cobra the 2.2l is "the" supercharger to have if you want the loud whine basically. Yet it still puts out about the same power as the 2.6 so many people love it.

Few examples of the 2.2l Scream:

Archangel redemption

Post by blkpwr on November 20th 2011, 8:42 am

I understand everyone had a good time at the recent dyno day, but has anyone dropped their vehicle off for work at archangels lately? I mean left it unsupervised by the owner to be workEd on?

The reason I ask is 5 years or so ago when this club forum was still an email list I asked on it where I could get a roll bar put in my convertible. Someone suggested kurtis and someone else. Kurt quoted me 800$ for labor to install roll bars and gears (I already had the parts). Since he said he could get to it right away, the other guy couldn't, I went with kurtis.

4 months and many phone calls after dropping off the parts, he met me with the car downtown the night prior to my leaving for an army nco school for a month. He wanted close to three times what he had quoted me. I gave him 800 since it was all I brought and told him I'd pay the rest when I got back from school. The next day while driving to south Carolina the gears shot out and I had to have it towed back to OKC where a dealership put new 410s in.

So is archangel back as a sponsor, or what

I'm not familiar with the transaction that occurred between you and Archangel, nor will I speculate. I suggest any complaints or issues be handled strictly between you and them and and not on this forum.

To answer your question , yes. Archangel is a sponsor of BMMC.

Archangel is back on as a club sponsor. We had backed out a few years ago because of stories like yours. However, that being said; there have been many improvements on the part of Kurtis and his company since then. The decision was made to take them on as a sponsor and let them have a opportunity to repair some of the issues from before. I believe Kurtis to be a very honest fair individual and am confident that if you go ask him about your situation from years back that he would find a way to make it right with you. If you need further assistance please send me a PM.

I have a friend here in OKC that sent his GT500 to Shelby for the Super Snake package. It was gone for months and when it arrived back at his house last week the car was filthy, swirls in the paint and fisheyes in the new KR hood. They are reloading back on the hauler and it is going back.

Everytime I deal with a vendor I think my problems stem from not picking a good partner but sadly all vendors are the same, your results may vary based on 100 different variables.

Most people that I have seen that just brag and brag about a vendor are usually somehow vested with them. There car is either in the garage or they are trying to build a relationship and hope throwing out a good word helps them in the pecking order.
