2011 Rumours

last time i ran... I had the cams and other stuff, I could not get any traction at all and the car kept kicking out on me when i shift the gears to 2nd and 3rd. That was on crappy street tires. I think i ran a 14.2 and a 13.7 on the second run. MPH was like 101... some crap like that. i didn't even ran a second time. it wasn't fun. Just spinning tires.

When will we know about the 2011?

Bill Ford is suppose to call me tomorrow. I'll let you know what he says.

I think by February we should have some solid reliable info. I hope we get the 5.0 in the GT. Somthing in the back of my mind keeps telling me that the GT may be no more and will be replaced with another special brand such as BOSS or similar and you'll see the price go up especially if the V6 gets 300 hp from the SHO motor? I have to wonder if well only have a base V6 a eco boost V6 and a 5.0 V8 modular in a special brand along with the new aluminum block 5.4 in the Shelby GT500?

Ok... The engine choices have already been announced.

The V6 will be the new 3.7 DOHC (The SHO has the 3.5). The same in the Lincoln MKS... That motor currently puts out something like 275hp. Rumor has it they are reworking the intake, exhaust and other areas and the final version will have right at 300hp maybe as much as 315hp). Directly aimed at the V6 Camaro which already comes will a 300hp power plant.

The GT will get the 5.0 liter as expected. It will be right at 400hp. This really isn't new news. But a rep from ford let it slip at a recent press conf. In a recent test at a road course, a 2011 GT with the track pac turned the same lap times as a new BMW M3... Not bad. Not bad at all. During the session it was also notice the front brakes appeared to upgraded with Brembos. Ford most likely did this as a result of the power increase. More good news! In 2012 the 5.0 will get another power increase.

GT500... The 5.4 stays but is suppose to get further refinement. BUT the biggest news is the replacement of the boat anchor iron block with an aluminum block! BOUT FRIGGIN TIME!!

2012 a Boss edition is suppose to released... Since the original Boss was a road track car It bet they take the track pac and do some more refining and cosmetic additions...

I still feel like the current rumors could be changed last minute. I'll wait till we get a solid production order form to put any faith in it.

My next stang is going to be the 2010 Roush Hammer which is in sharp contrast to what I drive now. I want a plan Jane mustang that has no style. :) but plenty of power.
