what do you want to know? I have 2 300 inch stroker kits made by eagle its good stuff. Run eagle products for a long time. My new engine is a 300 inch eagle internals you will be good to go. You will have to up the boost now that you are droping the CR of the engine more boost

Seems ok to me....should handle most anything you throw at it. And I see you decided to go with the Forged crank too.

The lower compression should help keep her safe.

I still would check the FRPP tune on a dyno when I got a chance. I would be curious to see where they set the timing and Air to fuel.

Im sure its way conservative. If it were me I would be getting a custom dyno tune after the new motor! Congrats on the new set up!

Still waiting on them to finish the rebuild. I don't know how long it should take to rebuild an engine? If I don't hear something by Friday I plan to obtain a Lawyer and set a drop dead date.

I have never sued anyone so this is not something I take lightly. I would also be concerned that I would have to prove he was negligent when driving the car. (I assume) But considering that he had already pulled my engine out of my car before he ever told me the engine was blown makes him liable for the damages. I hope it doesn't go that far and that he will set a date and keep it. He acts like he is doing me this awesome favor when at the end of the day I am going to have a non matching numbers car with a rebuild engine when all I really wanted was the bumper painted. I better stop now before I go off.

This is going to sound like a crazy ass question but can you check the mileage on a car without an engine installed? lol I mean can I connect the battery and get a reading? I assume not but thought I would check.

Re: Help Guys THE ENGINE HAS BLOWN

An engine build could take a weekend...could take a few weeks, just depends on how busy the shop is and how many hours they put into it. I would get an estimated date of completion, then if thats not met and your thinking your getting the run around...have a long conversation with the shop and see if you can nail down something in writing.

A lawsuit would be my last resort if your thinking this deal is going to go south.

The numbers matching isnt a huge deal being that it isnt a
"specialty" car built from the factory like the GT500s, Bullits, etc.
I dont believe the different engine will hurt your resale value.

As far as checking miliage...I dont know...I would assume if you have power to the interior you should be able to check the milage. I have just never thought to try.

Let us know how things progress and make sure you get a warranty written in writing for this motor. If this one goes south...you want to have your ducks in a row to make things right. Through the legal system if thats what it takes

Update: The bottom end has been completed and they plan to deliver the engine on Saturday morning. Here is a picture of the block. I guess you cant really tell much about the block other than it looks like shit and it is old.

More details.

The
Crank pulley is 6 ¾ in diameter

The
upper blower pulley is 3 ¼ in diameter

The pulley diameters listed above are what were originally installed and what will be going back on the engine. It seems to me that now is the time to upgrade the SC pulley to increase the boost since I have already dropped my compression to 8:5 to 1. My understanding is that since we dropped the compression I will have less HP if I do not up the boost a little. Still looking for this to be a daily driver.

Paint guy said that he would paint the block to match the car if I prefer and the valve covers as well.

Kevin,

Call FRPP and talk to them about the specifics. Let them know what motor is going in...what internals...etc. Specifically that the compression is now 8.5:1. They should be able to make the adjustments in the tune....might go ahead and send for the new tune and ask if you should change to a smaller pulley. With the smaller pulley a tune is something I would be wanting anyways.

Just food for thought.

I hope it all works out!
