CAI and Tune ( as a package ) Then gears.

You'll love. Best NA mod.

Let me know if you're interested. We can get you hooked up!

BTW.... are you Manual or Auto? The best gear ratios upgrades are as follows... 4:10s for manuals and 3:73s for automatics.

Depending on your Ultimate goal of course. If your manual and will be supercharging downt he road...Id get the 3.73s. If Auto...Id stick with 3.55s again if going supercharged

I have no plans to $upercharge. Just want a little pucker power and yes its manual. Daily driver. When u break it down, from what I'm hearing you only gain maybe 17 HP with the CAI and tune with a cost of around $800.00.

But the 17hp doesn't truely reflect the overall drivability of the car. A tune makes a bigger difference than you might think. Plus your talking 17hp that your are gaining without even getting yours hands dirty,

Nope...your cost is way too high

C&L plus Tuner Combo $649

http://www.bamachips.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18_4_10_32&products_id=185&zenid=56b632a0e637d5d26de57eb042730812

JLT CAI II plus Tuner combo $549

http://www.bamachips.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18_4_10_32&products_id=16&zenid=56b632a0e637d5d26de57eb042730812

And I gained 27 RWHP with my JLT II and XCAL with Bamachips 91 RACE tune

and thats 27 rwhp....so it converts to about 35 hp addition. So 335 HP at the flywheel isnt a bad addition for $500-$600

Honestly, the CAI and tune paired with the correct gear choice will be your best bang for the buck. You can get your car well into the 12 second zone at the track at around 108 MPH with just the CAI and gears with some sticky tires.

I would recommend the C&L Racer, or the JLT with a SCT tuner and either Brenspeed or Bama chips for mail order tunes or Greg for a custom dyno tune. Then I would get 410 gears and a better shifter. ( I use the Steeda Tri-Ax). You will be all smiles after these mods I promise.

The thing is the CAI and tuner are suggested first for the S197 because you will need the tuner anyway to recalibrate the speedo for the gear change.
