Archangel motors

Post by okcreferee on May 16th 2008, 11:32 am

Was wondering if Archangel is the most trusted S197 v8 and v6 dyno shop. Here in okc,Jim Paschall that owns sw tuning told me he would dyno my 2005 V6 for $770.00.Since I don't have an X-CAl I would assume that the X-cal is included in his price.I can't make it up for the club dyno day.Does Archangel require you to have an X-cal,and do you think his price would be lower than sw tuning?I have tried to go to archangel website.Won't come up.All info and answers will be appreciated. Thanks,Clinton in okc.

Kurtis at Archangel is WITHOUT a doubt the BEST and most trusted S197 guy in the state. Whenever SCT has a problem or a customer that needs help they send them to Kurtis. Kurtis has X-cals he sells and he can do a custom tune for you. Just give him a call at 437-7729 and he will get a time set up. His website is not up and running yet.

haha.... They are in the attic...Ill have to check... I have the Rolled tips that came on the GT premium edition. I have the passenger and drivers side mufflers. Hows $50 plus shipping for both or $30 plus shipping for one? They both have hangars and are the full muffler assymbly

Or you can just pick it up at the dyno session and save on shipping?

The custom tune will run you about $300 and I am not sure about the x-cal. $250 maybe...you would have to ask Kurtis. He has the x-cal2 and the x-cal 3 so I am unsure as to the price.

Thanks Jeff.$550.00 is alot less than $770.00,plus it seems that all the members are really sold on Kurtis and his custom dyno/tunes.Mine's just a V6,but I would like to get some more TQ/hp/MPG.Plus I would guess that a custom dyno would make the car perform much better than stock and be more efficient.

That's pretty close except I think the SCT X-Cal is more like $375. Kurtis, unlike a lot of other shops, will talk with you before shooting a price. If it's going to take several pulls with adjustments between, it may be a little more, or, could go the other way. He tries to give you what you need and not just a "package" deal. I have only seen him give people more than they actually pay for.....never less. He is not the lowest priced shop or the highest. He is competitively priced and generous. Refreshing!

I spoke with him yesterday and he said he could definitely do a better deal than 770. He was actually shocked they would charge so much. Give him a call. If he out of x-cals right now but has some coming in the first of next week.
