2009 Toy Drive
Ok BMMC, lets talk toys.........
Its time to start collecting for the Toy Drive! I am personally challenging everyone in the club to step up big this year with donations. Together we can change the lives of many with the gift of a toy.
This year as always BMMC will spearhead the toy drive starting immediately to gather as many toys as possible before our drop date. After the drop date has been determined we will meet at BHF to turn over all donations to the Reed Park community center.
For those of you new to the club I will give you a brief rundown of the toy drive.
We (BMMC) work with Bob Hurley Ford to raise toys for children in the Tulsa area. The toys are donated to the Reed Park advisory council. Reed Park is a community center located on Tulsas west side. The Reed Park advisory council works in conjunction with the local public schools and their counselors to choose children who would surely go without for Christmas if it werent for the donations raised. A unique system is in place for children chosen to participate in the reception of donations. Each chosen child receives a toy as well as any children under the age of 12 in the same household. This way all the children in a home get a toy as well. This is why it is so important that we raise as many toys as possible! Toys may be donated for Boys and Girls ages 1-12. After the donations are received by the Reed Park council they are sorted by volunteers into groups for gender and age appropriate gifts. They are wrapped and a Santa Clause is on hand on the night of giving at the community center to distribute the toys to the children. I have witnessed this first hand with some of the other club members and can attest to it being a eye opening event.
Toy donations are welcome as well as cash. If you would like to send a cash donation you can send it via PayPal to boldmovestulsa@gmail.com . 100% of all monies raised go towards buying Toys! All cash donations will be held until the weekend before the toy drop and an outing will be established for anyone who would like to join in and go buy toys. This is a really fun event! If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
I hope you join me in helping to make a childs life a little bit brighter!
Thanks,
David McKay

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
Oh also for those of you participating in challenge events, here is your chance to catch the leaders and win. Money donations up to $250 are matched dollar for dollar for points. Money donations from $251-$500 are worth double points, and donations from $501 and up are worth tripple points. So for example if you donate $250 you get 250 challenge points, if you donate $251 you get 502 challenge points, if you donate $501 you will get 1503 challenge points!! Here is your chance to win the challenge and do somthing good for the kids! I would like to know what everyone can do this year. I am challenging the club to raise $1000 towards toys! Let's show what we can do!

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
Ok since my style is to lead by example I'll be the first with a starting donation of $100.00
Do we have 9 more that can donate at the $100 mark to reach the thousand dollar goal? What about 18 at the $50 mark? Or maybe 36 at $25? Let's get to our goal if we all chip in a small amount we can reach our mark without any trouble.

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
I might be able to pull of the $50. It will be tight, but I will do what I can.

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
Awesome! Who else will buy a toy for a kid this christmas with us? Lots of children go without every year. We can all make a difference with a simple toy. Join me and the club by stepping up and helping us put a smile on a childs face.

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
I'm assuming Tony will be good for at least 10 toys and I'm positive Kelley will pony up for at least enough to keep Blair from taking over his top spot on the challenge points?
That's awesome guys! Who else? By my count on solid committments we are still $500 short of our goal. Come on folks! Forgo the half caf decaf late a couple times this week and help us buy these kids some toys!

Re: 2009 Toy Drive
We are real close to our goal but we still need a few more people to step up and contribute to this much worthy cause! Anyone out there that can give $10? How about $5? Five bucks will buy one toy, and to me that is one more little boy or girl that will not go empty handed on Christmas. Let's knock this one out of the park!
