Sorry I didnt get on last night but as you all know dealerships are flipping slow and I was exhausted by the time I finally got home. Well didnt go all that great! I test drove both the v6 and the GT and the GT had these cool lights around the coaster and in the floor board (HOLY CRAP never seen those before) so I fell in love but they wouldnt go down $2500 on the price. So needless to say we parted our ways....maybe I will just have to find something not as nice? I was pretty bummed last night when I got home though :(....I had already looked on American Muscles website for fun things to do to the car! Oh well....

Just be patient, there are plenty out there. What are you looking for, how much are you wanting to spend, auto or manual??? With the new models coming out this spring, some of the members on here might be upgrading soon, just some thougts. Chris (shodown) knows a lot of the dealers here, and might be able to find you something as well.

Mustangs are the easiest to learn to drive a stick on.

Because mustangs have so much torque they can literally pull themselves by just letting off the clutch to where it actually engages, and you'll start moving w/o having to give it gas.

Imports.....eeh not so much

Re: Howdy Strangers!!!

Post by Pinkmustangjess on January 27th 2010, 8:23 am

Ok last time I tried to drive a manual I about backed into a house...there are too many peddles. I prefer an automatic but if somehow by the grace of God I figured out how to drive a manual then fine. I just looked on Bob Hurley and I do not see anything as cheap as Joe Cooper had. I think I am going to have to go with a v6 and I want at most 5,000 difference left over and finding this is hard because my Pontiac is getting as much as a trade in as my old 01 mustang that had 119,000 miles. Also, whining does not help or sad puppy dog faces! Tried both! I want low miles on the mustang and these also doesn’t help my case.

ya gotta play hardball with them to get what you want. Look at deals all around. Gather info on a car you want. Are you looking at a 2010? or the 05-09?

If you had people try to teach you to drive a stick and you still cant figure it out, that means those people are bad teachers. no one can learn from a bad teacher.

i had several people try to tell me, "oh just give it gas and let off the clutch at the same time simultaneously"

I dont think I have the energy right now between work and school to be anymore bad A. HELP lol. I am looking at the 07s and 08s they seem to be more in my price range. Google has been my best friend soo far in the gathering information. I also checked out Kelly blue books to see what kind of price it would have.

o.O ouch

Probably should of said "Hi im with the Bold Moves Mustang Club of Tulsa" first, and that would of changed there attitude real quick

I dont want to turn it into a sexist issue, but with car dealerships, its really a guy's territory, and for me being a woman, its not an easy playing field, its going to be alot tougher for us to get a deal we want. You got to be persistent in what you want and to not give up.
Gather information on some cars out there that have the prices you want and the mileage you want.
bring that info to a dealer,
look at a car and kind of nit pick at things that would make it cheaper than what it actually is priced at.
Look at little things, like the paint, what the options it has, any certain kind of wear, what the wheels look like.

Gain some knowledge on the car you want. You can use that to your advantage.

I'll teach all you bishes how to drive stick!!!! Ask Jared, he's seen my skillz.

And as far as dealerships, none of them give me any trouble about being a woman, I tell them up front, this is what I want, this is what I'll pay and you are not the only stealership in town. Be prepared to walk away.
