385 series engine building(460 BB)
any one here have experience with ford 460 big blocks? im looking at building an engine for a future project car and wanted to start making a list and see what i'd be spending.
id want to start with a 460 big block but i dont know what i should be looking for.
there are several 460 blocks for sale locally.
i want to aim for 650+ hp and 600+ ft/lbs on 91-100 octane pump gas(i have a source of 100LL readily available)
i figure jon kaase p-51 heads and maybe a stroker kit for starters, custom high lift cam(.700 to .800 lift maybe?). this will be the very first engine i have ever build and will take a long time, i dont have experience so i was hoping i could get some pointers from you guys.
