I DID IT!

I drove Amandas baby and now have the basics of a manual! Go me....I didnt think I liked it to much but as soon as I got into my car I was a little confused and missed pushing in the clutch. Maybe I do like it?!

Congrats! I love a standard except when stuck in traffic. There is not better way to go!

yep, plus 1, your not there yet but it'll be awhile

Once you get to the point where your driving one everyday, you'll feel a little bit exhausted cause your body isnt used to that much movement while driving, Your left leg will feel soar for a while but that goes away.


Now that you have the basics down, its time to square up your shifting
When we drive again, I want you to make 10 smooth transitions from a stop to 1st gear, no killing it and no rocking or we start over at 1.

Once you pass that test, we'll head to a neighborhood and work at getting your shifting speed up,and learning to downshift, by this time you should know where the clutch engages by what it feels like and what it sounds like.

After this you should be well ready enough to practice on hills,
and once you get that down you'll be ready to take it out on just the streets.
and after that i'll have you drive out onto Hwy 75 and we'll head North since theres not much traffic out that way.

but right now lets get square up your shifting :p

better pay alot, im a fan of the idea of replacing my clutch and fly wheel with racing parts!
