Which Nitrous Kit?
I am looking into buying a nitrous kit, but am not sure what is the best kit and the safest. With this mod I am looking for reliability and saftey rather the most power added in the end. So basically which kit is the safest. I am relativley new to nitrous so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Re: Which Nitrous Kit?
There was a member on here, Lance, that had a nice little setup on his. I do not know the name or the brand, but it added some significant power and good track times too. Paul can probably chime in and maybe get some info for you.

Awesome! I will get with him then. I am thinking about going wet shot because of my fuel system is stock and it is I believe safer and easier to manage. But I dont know. I have alot of research to do. I dont want a shattered manifold and intake. LOL!

Re: Which Nitrous Kit?
It's not so much the kit, but how you have it setup. I've seen them set up completely wrong, such as crappy wiring (not soldered) etc. Also seen WAY too much spray being used for their setup and as a result the motor goes BOOM!
While there are a lot of good kits out there. The Zex kit is really the easiest to install and has a lot of nice safety/fail safe features.

Re: Which Nitrous Kit?
I agree with Paul on the setup being the most important thing. A big name kit can be junk if its installed incorrectly. Zex is probably the most user friendly kit out there. I am using a kit from www.harrisspeedworks.com. They are not real poplular with the Ford crowd, more so with the LS1 guys. I've been using it for 2 years without any issues.
Get yourself a rpm window switch to keep it from activating at too low or high of an rpm. Anything under 3k rpm is flirting with disaster. Also, I recommend going with 1 step colder spark plugs also. A dyno tune is a good idea, but I've had great success with my mail order nitrous tune from www.brenspeed.com. Definately get it on a dyno and check your a/f ratio either way. Stick with 100 hp shot or less and it is quite reliable and safe.

Re: Which Nitrous Kit?
Forgot to mention, under no circumstances should you spray it with a performance tune loaded. Typically performance tunes will advance your ignition timing which you do not want to do with nitrous.

Re: Which Nitrous Kit?
+1 on don't the tune. you'll need to take timing out. the more juice the more timing removed. i would absolutely get it dyno tuned to make sure you get all you can from it. i personally have an nx plate kit, but haven't installed it yet. i'm hoping i can get it done before spring hits. need a bottle bracket and new gaskets for the TB to the plate.
