Rear Blackout Panel

Post by Pinkmustangjess on February 25th 2010, 2:59 pm

I just got this in the mail and it basically stays on with tape. I did not realize this when I purchased it...I wasnt paying attention. I need input on this....Should I return it or does this stay on very good? Anything that just stays on my car with tape makes me wonder....

It requires 3M body tape, You can go to an auto parts store (Autozone, Oreilys, Advanced Auto) and pick up a roll,

Its double sided stick tape

I got the vinyl for the back lights but I am returning that and just going to purchase the Smoked Tail lights. I got the 3rd brake light decal....maybe thats what your thinking about? The blackout panel was 59.99 not bad but I just wanted to make sure it lasted before I put it on.

Surely it already has the tape on it.... She must have gotten the actual plastic panel, I thought she said she got the decal?

I think you should be fine with the 3M blackout panel, I have the mirror covers (http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-painted-mirror-covers.html) on mine that are held with 3M and have never had a problem.

Mines a tape on, 3m, been on since March last year and it looks GREAT. Also, mine isint garaged, and i put 45K miles on it last year, so I think that says tons for the peeps at 3M. You can see pics of mine on my facebook or myspace.
