shocks

Post by Vandy9303 on September 17th 2010, 1:01 pm

I installed some HR springs on my 03gt. She shocks are stock. When I hit bumps now it sounds/feels like the struts are bottoming out. Would a set of the tokio (sp?) Blue struts fix this issue? I'm guessing this is happening because the stock struts are so far compressed and can't keep up with the travel. The springs dropped the car about 2.5 inches. Its making it pretty sporty to drive it and just about making the wife have an anxiety attack, while funny I'm sure its not good on the car
Thanks
Vandy

Tokiko struts and shocks are great! I think they make a D-spec kit for your model that allows the user to adjust the rebound. Sounds like your stock units are shot.

It goes along with lowering your car that low.... My car is "sporty" feeling with brand new shocks....

The D-specs would be great if you want to spend that much!

I am running d-specs on my car with sportline springs, which is 2 inch drop on s197's which is low. The d-specs are awesome, the ride is very nice, very easy to adjust unlike some adjustable shocks/struts. I would go with adjustable just in case your still think the ride is too hard, I half turn makes a world a difference on these.

well the tokico blues are on the way to the house. should be there in a couple days so we will see how they do. i had to do something for this trip. my typical driving to work its not bad there are a few bumps i have to slow down quite a bit for. but last weekend we learned that the car on a back arkansas highway didnt do very well. so hopefully this will fix my issues

Cool, let us know how they work out...

I went the mach1/tokico made shocks a month or so ago... They have helped a bit, but still get the pogo feel on big bumps. Really need a bump steer kit
