Super Shaker is On....

Post by v6v8swap on September 26th 2010, 8:28 pm

Hey everyone! Just now getting around to posting some pics of the mod I did in the first part of July. The wife and I bought a new house in August, so I've been busy moving and trying to get the old house sold.
I also got a tuner and tune from Brenspeed to put in it, but I've gotten no where with that. It's an SCT X3 and I can't get it to load the tune. I haven't really had time to mess with it too much, but the car isn't running right after installing the shaker with the tune that Saleen loaded to the ECM. I was hoping the Brenspeed tune would help, but can't get it to load at all. The tuner is not unlocking the ecm for some reason.
I was hoping to run at mods vs. rods again this year with it, but if I can't get it running right idk if it's even going to be worth it. I'm looking for someone that knows SCT stuff to help me figure out why it won't load. I called Brenspeed and they sent me to SCT. I talked to a tech at SCT and he gave me some things to try, but once I tried to email him with those results, I can't get a reply back out of them either. So, now I'm kinda stuck and don't know which way to go. Any ideas from anyone?

Dunno... squeaky wheel... bug the shit out of them until the help. What did the SCT tech say to do.

Maybe Greg can chime in...

I would have to see it. Did SCT have you update the filmware? I could come by and see what's going on. Do you get any errors when trying to load a tune. The saleen file maybe a different box code than what breenspeed gave you.

Get that damned car fixed, Phil. I've really been looking forward to seeing it since you started this project.

It did give me some error codes, but I'm at work and don't have them with me.
SCT had me check for the 18v that the tuner puts out to unlock the ECM at the obd port and it was there. That's where I stopped with it. It pulls good up to about 3500 and then just kinda hesitates on up to redline. Itused to pull up to 6000 redline before the shaker install. And I'm seeing more boost than before too. Used to be about 7, now 8-9, so it should feel stronger.

OK I'm home now. The codes came out like this:
Error 1019-Unlock ECM Failed
Error 1017-Upload Stock Failed
Error 1009-No Tune Changes Written

Yes I did update the firmware to the latest one that they had.
I'm in Enid, so I'd probably need to come to you. But, I'm totally willing to do this if you can figure this thing out. Let me know what you think or what I need to try........Thanks!
