Friday night Test and Tune at TRP

This Friday night October 1st drag racing at TRP. I will be getting some baseline runs on the Shelby. Should be great weather. Hope everyone can make it. Gates open at 6. More info at www.tulsaracewaypark.com

You'll be fine with jeans until you break 13s then helmet required. 1349 for vert cage 1149 I'm pretty sure rollbar. 9.99 full cage

Na. I know what mine runs. We're going to get some base lines on Mckay's GT500 before the mods start flying on it. Plan on doing a completely stock run and one with DR's.

LMAO! Nice andrew. BJ ran a 12.4 last time he was out and didn't get much traction. I will have the DRs so I don't know how he will do with street tires! Andrew, if our lug patterns are the same, you can borrow mine.

Andrew has the stock four lug. Anyone have DR's that will fit a Pinto or Fairmont? :)

It was a good night for racing. I will post the videos later tonight.

Good time last night. Learned a few things about the Shelby;

1. There is no traction to be had at the strip on the stock rubber.
2. Drag radials are worth a solid 4 tenths at the strip on a Shelby.
3. That blower whine makes me smile even if I don't go as fast as I'd like.

I also learned that the new 2011 5.0 is a solid 11 second car with a hundred shot of giggle gas. Just awesome.

It was great to see everyone out we had a great turnout of racers and BMMC support. Stay tuned for the next outing with mods to track the progress on my build. Last night was good for a 12.7 in stock trim with drag radials. I think with just control arms to eliminate the wheel hop and a line lock to get better heat in the tires 12.5 or better would be possible in otherwise stock trim. It will be interesting to see what a tune and gears will do? Maybe a smaller blower pulley? Should be fun.

And the mods begin!

I also learned how sweet that new 5.0 was, and also learned that I really would like to go as fast as that silver SN95 with the KB on it!

I learned that I'm even more torn between a 2011 5.0 and Gt500....
