Post by Shelby10' on November 15th 2010, 10:24 pm

Stock 2011 GT500 running some seriously fast times. This is a 2011 GT500 running 11.42. Hes run a best to date of 11.27! Pretty good stock times

Here is a 2010 GT500 stock with slicks running 11.36 driven by Ted lewchuk. Get this Ted has run a best of 10.88@129 with stock blower, stock tune, no nitrous with his 2010...UNREAL!

Here is the SVT Forum page link where they are discussing it.

Impressive runs. Hard to believe totally stock with just slicks though.

Boy, I don't know. Still hard to believe. Maybe stock with gears and some serious weight reduction mods.

I hear ya...but...I find it really a stretch that someone would go to this length to fool a forum. But you never know. There are 2 that are doing it over there and other forum members that confirm its vailidity with their own eyes. Crazy!!

Driver mod and da at the track make up most of the difference. Some areas you can pick up 3-4 tenths depending on the DA.

What were your 60ft times? These guys with some better drag radials with more side wall are managing 1.60s on stock motor and gearing.

BUT remember they are most likey at sea level or dang near close. Take your times with the DA of that day...then make the adjustments as to what it "Would have been at sea level" this should give you an idea of where your at compared to them.

I was going to say they are probably running down in Houston or at Englishtown. I believe both places see alot of negative DA this time of year.

I was cutting 1.9-1.8 60's. Of course I was Babying it since it was the first time out with the Shelby. I'm sure I could have gotten more agressive with my launch, but I wasn't real happy with my burnouts with no line lock and they were making us run out of the groove. I guess I wasn't sure with just a few thousand miles on it if I was ready to do a 5000 rpm pedal drop on it. Lol. I will say that the 331 gearing isn't steep enough for the track. It needs a minimum of 373's to get the 60' times where they need to be.

Agreed....3.73s would definitely get a rise of her. I have found that the key (From reading forums) to these cars isnt high RPM lauches per se.....Keeping the RPMs lower but rolling on to the gas gradually in order to keep traction can net 1.60 60ft. I might be wrong here....just what I have read. Real world experience could be completely different

Yeah I think that's about where I was leaving. Traction wasn't an issue until second gear though. That's when it started to do the booty shake like crazy. I'm sure I lost at least a tenth maybe more on the wheel hop. Probably more like 2-3 tenths.

Pretty impressive. Gear changes were coming quick. I'd guess he's running 4.10's. I wonder how much weight reduction he's done.

Its stock....3.73s are the best stock ratio you can get. ...and no weight reduction stock interior.

Post by Shelby10' on December 11th 2010, 10:17 pm

Update....guy got some light drag wheels and running a different slick! Quote from another site.

"I installed my new drag rims yesterday. I picked up a set of dragstars for my car. I am running a hoosier full slick on the rear 26/10/15 and 26/4.5/17 m&h up front. I went to the track today to see what it would do. I managed a 11.16 at 124mph with a 1.62 60ft. Car is still stock but with racestar wheels. It was 70 today so maybe in some high 50s low 60s it will run some 11.0s. It has the mph for 10s. We will see. I will get some video up when I can."

This guy can definitely drive! 11.16 at 124mph COMPLETELY STOCK with slicks.... Impressive. These cars just keep amazing me.

Depending on air and location, this is totally believeable. Really think about it, I ran about the same mph as this with my stage 2. I am sure that one has 3.73 as I do, it doesn't have a 2.6 pulley but it is 100 pounds lighter which will make up for the 2.6. Also has slicks/skinnies where I was using 18 inch drag radials. With proper launch and sub 1.8 60ft, mid 11's and lower can be had.
