We had a 1966 4 door version(straight six/3 carbs bla bla bla). Bought it with one small winning lottery ticket in 1969-1970. Sure road nice. And had Birds Eye maple wood grain interior. Exhaust set "very" low to the ground. Duels out the back and two gas tanks.

The pic doesn't do the car justice. It was a very sharp dark blue/wlight blue leather interior. Tables built into the seat backs to eat lunch etc. A/C Vents in the rear window area. Our other car was a 1962 VW so you can see this was the car to take out. Parents bought their first PA lotto ticket when we moved there and won enough cash to buy that car. Getting it worked on was another story. Not too many knowledgeable German mechanics in central Pa at the time.
