Howdy
Hello everyone. I was browsing the forums over at Modular Fords and saw a link to this site. My name is Michael and I live in Oklahoma City where I attend OCU Law. I am currently a 2L. I am from Texas where I graduated from Texas A&M (I know... already expecting flak ;)) I drive a 2005 Mustang GT mineral gray. I was very active in the car community while I was in undergrad and I would love to get involved with it again.
While I was in undergrad, I was an officer for TAMSCC (A&M car club) which is the largest collegiate car club in the nation. With that I was responsible for hosting and running the TAMSCC Auto-X every month. I also worked and raced my car at Texas World Speedway which is a 2.9 mile road course. I am sure some of you that race at Hallet are familiar with it.
My car has a few upgrades but nothing really special. 13.4 @ 105 in the 1/4. Can't ever get my 60' down...
When you finally see my car you will notice it has hood pins (and yes I am use to joking about it). The reason behind this is obvious in that it shouldn't require hood pins since it's so slow. The reason they are there is b/c when I would get 90+ MPH at the speedway my hood would unlatch and I just didn't feel right not doing something.
Anyways, just wanted to stop by and say hello.

Hey and welcome Michael! No need to explain your hood pins a lot of have them, not just for looks, most for the issue you just described.
Once again welcome. Post some pics of your ride when you get a chance!

Uh oh! Mr Cox, you are now just another mineral Grey. Lol
Welcome Michael, I was just giving some rib shots to another member who also has a MG GT and proclaims it is the only one in existence. Haha. Glad to have you aboard! Cand wait to meet ya and see that car! Oh, and the hoods on the S197 move all over the place so I feel ya on the pins. I had em on my 06 too.

David I never read the color.....Mr Cox is going to be most upset by another Mineral Grey joining the club haha
Hes going to have to change his signature!
Oh and no worries on the hood pins Michael....I and quite a few others had them due to the hood fludder on the highway. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Howdy
Welcome Michael!
Why would I be upset by someone with such obviously good taste wanting to join the club? Won't affect my status as the First MG in the club, and if Michael starts a BMMC OKC chapter he can lay claim to the "First and Only" MG there.

It's kind of like you're adopted, and then finding out you have a twin who was raised by another family in another city. I always felt there was another MG GT out there somewhere, I've just never seen another one! Still haven't actually seen this one yet, either...

Re: Howdy
Be sure to make plans to attend the mid America ford and team Shelby nationals in June with us here in Tulsa. It's the one event you certainly don't want to miss.
I think we are planning to do a few shows down in your area this year so keep an eye out in the events thread.
