Drag slick and wheels size

Post by Tha Skinny on June 26th 2011, 7:38 pm

Hey guys, Im trying to find some info on a good size for drag slick tire and wheel combinations. There looks to be tons to choose from. They will be going on a 2011 gt and as of tomorrow the car will be lowered on Ford Racing springs.

Thanks in advance

Just seems like a small tire for a 10" rim... Surprised its not bigger...

You dont need anything bigger.... a 28'' tall tire that needs to flex is perfect for a 10'' rim. We arent talking street tires here.

Too much tire for the power just adds to drag...you dont need a 315 drag radial to get traction.

I prefer the extra wide look. They don't make tires wide enough IMO. This is what I'm going with shortly.

That set up looks pretty sweet! I dont know if he is wanting to go full race with front tires and wheels though. I think were more interested in something that is a complete slick maybe on a 16'' inch wheel. I know the stock tire height is 22 and some change inside the rear wheel well. It kinda sucks seeing this pirreli rubber sticking to the rear quarter panels....lol
