Lowering springs

So I'm about to order some new springs, have it narrowed down between the eibach pro-kit and the ford racing k springs (for the moment)

Both kits advertise a drop of 1-1.5 inches, which should achieve the look I'm going for. With either of these kits, would I need to upgrade the shocks/struts or can I run the stock pieces? Also, would you guys suggest an adjustable panhard bar after the drop? Not sure what is necessary, just want to make sure and do things right. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Well according to stock level amounts your getting the Ford Racing K Springs!

I prefer the Pro-Kit, but I have heard great things from both.... upgrading shocks is always a plus, but if you don't want to you will be fine running stock shocks/struts with either set.

Would suggest some new lower control arms to go with them...

I run FRPP springs in my 500 so do a couple others. But the Eibach set is good quality too. The rear will shift a bit so yes an adjustable panard bar is a good idea after as well as some camber bolts for the front so you can get the camber adjusted correctly. You can run the stock shocks/struts with those springs without any issue.

as david said, but i would add if you can afford the caster/camber plates go with that instead of the bolts. yeah it is alot more money, but it's also alot better option especially if you intend to us the car for some corners.

All depends on your set-up. Bolts if you just plan for straightline, but if you want a corner carver, some plates would greatly help.

But some negative camber would also help in the corners ;)

some would. But you don't want to go crazy. When you start seeing 5* variance, the tires don't like that. Good to have them to customize it and not just leave it.

Ive got the FRPP Springs, but also had the Pro Kit on my 07 GT and loved them. I dont think you can go wrong with either choice.

I am just doing the camber bolts ($25) to correct the negative and get the car aligned and call it good for now.

Down the road I plan on throwing on some adjustable Shocks, Lower control arms, adjustable upper control arm, front and rear sway bars, etc

But until the wife stops threatening divorce, I am stuck with just the springs hehe

Now I'm just praying I can still get up my driveway with the lower stance haha. I measured my clearance the other day and it's going to be close! But I think I can pull it off. Damn driveway...

Angles are your friend, When pulling out NEVER go down a steep incline/decline straight. Slowly angle the car, should give you more clearance.

This is my issue with the new house. Exhaust scrapes slightly. I think I can jack it up and pivot the h-pipe and be fine. It's scraping where the skid plate/heat shield covers the cats.

If All else fails, I'll take the cats off... problem solved... My driveway goes up slightly then a sharp incline back down in to the garage. It's that decline that gets me.

Heck, just take the whole exhaust off! You don't need it anyway haha...

But really, I feel ya on the bad driveway, it definitely sucks.

Finally got around to getting the springs and panhard bar on my car. Very pleased with the new stance. It took care of the monster truck look of the stock springs. I'm also pretty pleased with the ride. I had a buddy in high school that had a 01 GT that was lowered and it beat the crap out of me every time I rode in it so that's kind of what I was expecting here. Not the case though, ride quality is fairly close to stock.

Oh and I can still get in and out of my driveway without scraping.

Good to know! and yea, my body isn't my issue, it's the odd angle of the exhaust. Need to get under it and loosen a few bolts and re-do the angle of the H-pipe. Then we should be good. I am only scraping by about 1/16". Very slight scrape, but still enough to make you cringe.
