Re: Got the house!
Just carpeted the living room and master bedroom in my house. Wish I would have known a week or two ago.

Carpet is fine, we plan to keep it until we rip it out for hardwood, and we got the tile on clearance for $0.72/sq ft.
Got the tile put in to the guest bathroom. Changed our original idea to minimize the install hassle, and did the grouting yesterday. Also went ahead and put tile above the shower since the paint bubbled the first time we turn the shower on. Gonna wait to grout that until the weekend.
Washer and dryer are ready for pickup, gonna get those after work today.
Painting is done minus baseboard touch-ups.
They delivered our refrigerator Saturday, but when they took it out of the box it looked like someone ran a forklift into it, so we rejected it and they ordered us another one. Should try deliver again next weekend.
Getting close, should have all paint and tile done this weekend, along with putting the toilets back in. Then just install all appliances and start moving.

Re: Got the house!
Also, with the home warranty, has anyone had a garbage disposal go out? On ours, I started noticing that the more we use it, it only kicks on once every two-three flicks of the switch. Also, the blades in the sink are really rusty, so thinking I may try to claim it.
Anyone have a referral on what brand to get to replace it? Don't want to deal with the hassle if it's only $100 for a new one. But if it's < $150 I would rather pay the $50 service fee and be done with it.

Yea went and looked at Lowe's and thinking about saving the hassle of the warranty and just picking up the InSinkErator Badger. It's 1 1/3 hp for $85.

Re: Got the house!
I replaced my disposal with the badger after the wife put rocks from the fish tank down the first one. It works like a charm and mounted right up to the existing bracket. Just remember to take out the plug in the side if you have a dishwasher going to it. Kind of hard for the dishwasher to drain when you don't remove the plug.

Re: Got the house!
Well, we moved in over the weekend. Lots of work, but well worth it. Still got a ton of unpacking to do, but living room bedroom and kitchen are done, so the house is more than livable. Office and guest room are another story.
Finding little things here and there that need to be fixed, dripping plumbing and the such. Nothing a sledgehammer can't fix, lol.

Re: Got the house!
thanks. I'd invite you over but I don't want you bringing those north-BA hoodlums into my area. It'll be bad enough once the mini-mall is built...
