sct tuner
Thinkin of picking up a tuner from a guy. He has a v6 tune on it and it is unlocked. am i able to go and just download a tune from somewhere and plug and play or will it need to be sent in. I can grab the tuner and all the hardware for 220..is it worth it?

Re: sct tuner
which sct is it. if it's an X2 that's way to much. if an X3 it's not a great price, but not horrible either.
for a tune you can of course get a dyno tune or just an email tune from a reputable tuner.

Lol.. That's what I posted in this forum. It's for my roomates gt. We t the tuner now just deciding which one to go with. How long does it take to get the tune once purchased? Are there any that are direct for just mild mods.. Exhaust and gears??

Re: sct tuner
I know, just be nice to get a free one.
Have you talked to kurtis to see if he can unlock them? I have a friend that can do it but id have to mail it to him. Still a lot cheaper than 150 from sct.

you'll want to purchase an email tune from one of many vendors. for basic bolt-ons i suggest using american muscle and buying into their "tunes for life" program. basically you'll be spending about $150 for 3 different tunes (for the same car), but when he gets more mods you can have the tune updated for those mods free of charge.
