2011 BMMC Toy drive

Ok BMMC, lets talk about working together to change the life of a child!

Its time to start collecting for the Toy Drive! I am personally challenging everyone in the club to step up big this year with donations. Together we can change the lives of many with the gift of a toy.

This year as always BMMC will spearhead the toy drive starting immediately to gather as many toys as possible before our drop date. After the drop date has been determined we will meet at BHF to turn over all donations to the Reed Park community center.

For those of you new to the club I will give you a brief rundown of the toy drive.

We (BMMC) work with Bob Hurley Ford to raise toys for children in the Tulsa area. The toys are donated to the Reed Park advisory council. Reed Park is a community center located on Tulsas west side. The Reed Park advisory council works in conjunction with the local public schools and their counselors to choose children who would surely go without for Christmas if it werent for the donations raised. A unique system is in place for children chosen to participate in the reception of donations. Each chosen child receives a toy as well as any children under the age of 12 in the same household. This way all the children in a home get a toy as well. This is why it is so important that we raise as many toys as possible! Toys may be donated for Boys and Girls ages 1-12. After the donations are received by the Reed Park council they are sorted by volunteers into groups for gender and age appropriate gifts. They are wrapped and a Santa Clause is on hand on the night of giving at the community center to distribute the toys to the children. I have witnessed this first hand with some of the other club members and can attest to it being a eye opening event.

Toy donations are welcome as well as cash. If you would like to send a cash donation you can send it via PayPal to boldmovestulsa@gmail.com . 100% of all monies raised go towards buying Toys! All cash donations will be held until the weekend before the toy drop and an outing will be established for anyone who would like to join in and go buy toys. This is a really fun event! Ok guys I want to get us started off right. The wife and I usually sponsor a family in the local area at Christmas time through a local organization. Since we can't do all the shopping that is required for that program with the wife being prego and all we would love to donate to this charity. My paypal payment has been sent.

This event was great last year (I was my first BMMC event). I can't wait to help through the full run, let's see it even bigger!

Ok folks, we must ramp this up. Lets set a goal of $2000 for toys this year. We need about $1500 more to reach it. Who will step up with me and see that we pull this off?

I'm gonna check the Finances Friday, December being 3 paychecks, everyone should be able to kick in a little bit.

And remember, it goes toward the BMMC Challenge!

Great cause ladies and gents.

that week around the toy drive Walgreen's has all their toys BOGO, and they have a lot of $5 toys and stuff that kids seem to love. Where a lot of my stockpile came from last year...

Let's fill the truck!!! I need 10 people to donate $100 ea. I'm sure we have 10 people that can do a hundred bucks. Who can I count in?

Don't have a lot of time to go shopping, but if someone else will volunteer to go shopping you can put me in twice.
