clutch, motor mounts, tranny mounts

Post by 1bad00gt on December 24th 2008, 11:38 pm

So I know I havent been on here in next to forever and I would say it has been because Im working a lot but that is no excuse lol. Anyways just thought I would fill in whoever cares the status of my car. I was driving it and the clutch started slipping real bad. We ended up dropping out my transmission and I had completely lost about a 1/4 of the friction surface on my 10k mile spec 3 clutch. After seeing that I took the clutch disc, flywheel, and pressure plate down to friction products and getting everything redone for $125, which isnt bad in my opinion. At the same time I noticed my motor mounts were completely shot and you could tip my engine with one finger, and my tranny mount was bad too. So with a quick call to Maximum Motorsports I ordered a set of solid motor mounts and a poly tranny mount! I also got a new clutch cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster from Steeda. So hopefully it will all be back together once all the parts get here in a couple weeks. Im excited to see how much torque I had been losing with those crapped out motor/tranny mounts! Anyways thats all, I might take pics of the clutch job when I find time to pick it back up if you all are interested in seeing their work, other than that I think everyone has seen pics of a transmission out lol so I wont waste your time!

Merry Christmas to you too!! Is the Jerbear going to go out and ruin little childrens belief in santa claus tonight by going out and banging on ramdom windows?

Well in that case I will get some pics as soon as I can. Right now the tranny is just sitting up under the car, but Ill try to get some of the killer motor mounts!

Welcome back. Good to hear from you again. We still need to run the cars sometime, but have to wait for some warmer weather. The nittos dont seem to like the cold all that much.

Have a Merry Christmas. Will come by to see you guys here after christmas. I need a rotate and balance on the truck, and after last weeks ice storm, need a little alignment too.

Nope, the curb jumped out in front of me.

Actually, I was going strait and the trucked lacked the ability to turn. So it was either continue the slide which I was not having any luck of getting out of, or straighten up the wheels and try and take out the curb. I choose option B. If i wouldn't have straightened up the wheels, probably would be looking at a new hub, wheel and other things. All in all it didn't seem that bad. There are pot holes around town that I've hit worse the that.

Ya we will definitely have to run them! Ummm maybe we should wait untill I have my gears just to make it a little more fair for me haha. Ya bring the truck on in! Hopefully you didnt bend anything under there, that wouldnt be any fun! But you are right, the nittos arent big fans of cold weather, especially after they are almost bald.... :(

well when the lady starts getting a little older things start to sag a bit. you just have to go in there and replace parts. get everything lifted back into place like she was a teenager again. how many miles on it causing everything to be gone.
