Hallet private use

Post by pony74055 on January 7th 2009, 4:49 pm

Ok I have been talking to Scott Stephens @ Hallett Motor Racing Circuit about renting the track for a club day not just BMMC but Green Country as well I have friends both places don't hate me I love everybody. Well if I want the whole facility and corner workers and insurance (a must in this day and time) it will cost 4000.00 now that seems like a lot but it really is not compared to other places I have called. We would have the same run of the place as the Shelby event and the more participents the lower the cost for us. So I was looking at Feb 15th with a rain date of the 22nd I would need commitments and money up front if we do this. Scott said he would gather up some instructors for us to help any new people or anyone else who wants to go. Well lets open this up for disscussion on how we would want to set this up I would like to have BMMC be the host club and try to grow this into an annual event since there is nothing going on this time of year and this could be our local Daytona kick off of the season you know first thing for the new year.

I'm in! I have nothing planned at this time. The only question is about weather. Is Feb the best time to get an annual thing going? The weather can be 71 deg or snowing that time of year. As far as the money goes, you need cash or check? Any good crash helmets for sale around here?

Oh, and good job George!

Yeah, I am in depending on cost. If we can get it to around $100, I think I can swing it. If not, I will probably be out. But keep us up to date on the number committed.

Blair, I think Tony has some old helmets that he has offered in the past, might message and see if he has any he wants to get rid of.

And you call yourselves hot rodders! Get out and pick up some beer cans or something!

I'll PM Tony. Seems he and I are just trading money back and forth....

How long do you get to run? We could also look into this if anyone would be interested. Did it for my bachelor party and it was pretty fun.

Im with some of the other guys. If the cost is reasonable for time on track then i would be in. How long would we have the track for? and are lessons extra ontop of the initial price?

Oh and i would definitly think do the go karts no matter if we do hallet or not. That should be a yearly event to schedule.....fun racing with no chance of hurting the cars but still having braging rights.

lol!

I would be in the same boat Amanda.

The go carts are fun as hell, pretty quick and in Tulsa. Would be a great event for the club, do a fall and spring run.

I'll probably be in on the Hallett racing! Took my son there for COMMA racing two summers ago; got lapped by a Viper. Could've thrown a rock anywhere around that track and hit a Miata.

Since Hallett is considered a small/short track, the smaller cars normally do great. There's not a lot of room from the bigger V8 cars to stretch there legs as they say.

Embarrasement won't kill you. I guarantee you that I will suck. The difference is that I'm old, cantakerous, and don't give a #$^&!!!

The carts will work too. I vote do it all!

That didn't seem to bother the Viper one bit. It's a little disconcerting to be going 90-95mph and be passed on a straightaway like you're standing still...
